Welcome to "CVD Risk Reduction and Lipid Management: State of the Science in HDL Therapy," a special educational initiative designed to reach cardiologists and primary care providers where they network with peers (at American College of Cardiology Chapter meetings). This initiative includes a series of live ACC Chapter meeting symposia. These programs will take place throughout the remainder of 2012. Click on the Live Chapter Meetings tab to see if it is coming to an ACC Chapter meeting near you. You can also view this important program on-demand online and receive CME credit. Despite the use of sufficient statin therapy to achieve stringent low-density lipoprotein (LDL) goals, many dyslipidemic patients are at an unacceptably high risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) events. This disturbingly high residual risk clearly illustrates the need for accessible education, so that clinicians who play a key role in the management of these patients can keep abreast of current and emerging strategies for the treatment of complex dyslipidemia, particularly conditions that are characterized by low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels. The following activities are designed to meet that need:
